Meaningful Easy Christmas Craft for the Man I Love

Can you believe it's almost that time of year again? We know it comes every year but somehow, for some of us, at least it slips up on us. Well, this year I decided to get an early start on my gifts and decided to share some of the great ideas I've found for DIY Christmas crafts you can give as gifts.

1. No Sew Gift Pillow

You can't find a simpler yet more stylish gift than this no-sew gift pillow. All you need is a pillow, ribbon, and your hot glue gun. Add a sprig of mistletoe to add extra flair.

2. Terra Cotta Snowman

According to the directions provided by Home Depot (click on photo source link to see instructions), this adorable terra cotta snowman is super easy to make. You need 3 terra cotta pots: 8", 10" and 12 inches, acrylic paints, white cabinet knobs, a small wooden dowel, landscaping glue, and ribbon for a bow (optional).

3. Goody Mason Jars

Jennifer Jangles says these jars are super easy to make. Just spray paint the lids, use a nail to make a hole in the center of the lid, insert craft wire, add beads, and finish off with a little hot glue and you have a cute jar for all those yummy Christmas treats.

4. Pine Cone Fire Starters

This adorable craft is great for any occasion but Christmas is definitely one of its more popular seasons. They are easy to make and can be very expensive if you have a place to gather pine cones. Watch the following video for detailed, easy-to-follow instructions.

5. Paintbrush Ornaments

This cute craft has so much potential! All you need is new paintbrushes in a variety of sizes and acrylic paint. "Dress them up" as Rudolph, Santa's suit, Frosty (see above photo) or any of your favorite Christmas characters.

6. Christmas Countdown Plate

An inexpensive charger plate and some chalkboard paint makes an adorable Christmas countdown plate, as a gift or to keep for yourself. You can find the simple three step instructions at Lizzie's Creations.

7. Gumball Machine Inspired Jars

So cute and so class and oh, so easy! 12. Shutter Snowmen

Habitat for Humanity and similar stores have plenty of old shutters in stock just looking to be upcycled and here is a fabulous idea. You'll preferably want a white shutter but colored shutters can be made white with a couple of coats of spray paint. You'll also need three large buttons, a wooden dowel, acrylic paint, and wood glue. Get creative!

19. Joy Light

Patio umbrella lights, three paper mache letters, and spray paint is all you need to create this adorable lighted sign. I love the tutorial at Uncommon Designs but I believe I'll make one adjustment to the one I plan to make: LED outdoor string lights. (If you consider this, remember it will need to be placed where it gets plenty of sunlight by day so it can shine brightly at night.)

20. Sea Salted Caramel Gift Set

Sally's Sea Salted Caramel recipe is to die for! Teachers especially love them. All you need is pint size (rectangular recommended), granny smith apples, red apples, and a clear wine gift bag. One piece of advice: keep a couple for yourself. You can thank me later.

21. Pine Cone Wreath

Follow the simple instructions on how to glitter your pine cones at The Country Chick. Once your glitter is set, you're ready to move on to the simple video tutorial that follows. You'll need a wire hanger, chain links, a hot glue gun, and ribbon for a large bow.

22. Burlap Tree Skirt

I love the rustic look and would love to have a burlap tree skirt but I can't even sew a button on! Well, thanks to Tawny's Tidbits, I have no-sew burlap tree skirt instructions. With just a few yards of burlap an inexpensive tree skirt to serve as template and underlining, and a hot glue gun, you can make one too.

I love the rustic look of this easy-to-make nativity silhouette at Sugar Bee Crafts. Simple and relatively quick to make but makes a perfect piece of Christmas decor for yourself or a friend. (Click on photo source link for instructions.)

23. Microwavable Heat Pack

Even though these are recommended closed with a sewn stitch, truth is you can use fabric glue or heat bonding sealer to make these popular-because-it's-awesome gift of microwavable heat packs. All you need is rice, fabric, glue/tape or sewing machine and the simple instructions from Life as Mom.

25. Lighted Friendship Jar

This is one of the most beautiful, stylish, yet easiest-to-make gifts on this list. Watch the video tutorial to see the simplicity in this otherwise sophisticated DIY gift.
